Direct Support Professional (DSP) As a True Friends Weekday Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll make a meaningful impact by supporting participants with personal care, health needs, and meals. You'll help individuals build skills, reach their full potential, and actively engage in recreational and leisure activities both on-site and in the community. Pay: $17.42
Location: Camp Eden Wood, Eden Prairie, MN

- About Organizational events that bring our team together
- Assist participants with activities of daily living, including personal cares, meals, and recreational/leisure activities
- Lead recreational and leisure activities as assigned by leadership
- Report any changes in participant condition promptly
- Ensure participants' belongings are properly checked in and returned
- Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines
- Complete all documentation requirements accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform general cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of areas used by participants and staff
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities
- Attend and actively participates in staff meetings
- Transport participants to various locations as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be able to pass an organizational background check
- Minimum age of 18 years or older
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- High school diploma required; some college in a related field desirable
- Current Medication Administration Certification or willingness to obtain (True Friends will pay you to obtain)
- Strong and written communication skills
- Ability to safely handle physical aggression and challenging behaviors
- Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on safety
- Must be a team player and able to work independently
- Physical demands
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate verbally
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move continually during working hours
- Ability to feel objects and use fingers to operate tools and controls
