The Supervisor, In-House Service & Repair is responsible for leading a team of in-house repair technicians to ensure all service activities are completed efficiently, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and customer requirements. This role ensures repair processes align with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and established Quality Systems, documentation standards, and performance metrics.
The Supervisor will provide regular communication and updates to the team, ensuring clarity of priorities and alignment with organizational goals. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this position actively services, troubleshoots, and repairs complex electro-mechanical systems and subassemblies used in ACIST Medical Systems equipment. The Supervisor will collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical and operational challenges, supporting continuous improvement within the service organization.
** Leadership & Team Development
*** Supervise the daily activities of in-house Service Technicians, assigning and monitoring work to ensure efficiency and quality.
* Set clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for results.
* Foster employee growth and engagement through performance management, skills development, regular one-on-one feedback, annual reviews, and recognition programs.
* Build and maintain positive employee relations through open communication and consistent support.
* Manage conflict effectively using appropriate interpersonal techniques to resolve issues and promote teamwork.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, work rules, and safety regulations.
* Oversee onboarding, training, and cross-training of new and existing team members to ensure technical proficiency and coverage across all repair functions.
** Operations & Performance Management
*** Conduct daily analysis of all customer systems and loaners in repair to ensure turnaround standards are met.
* Monitor and adjust loaner inventory and allocate resources to optimize repair cycle time and customer satisfaction.
* Interface with management, engineering, and other departments to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
* Recommend and implement improvements to repair processes, methods, and quality outcomes.
* Lead or assist in implementing product changes and updates within repair operations.
* Maintain ownership of applicable work instructions, SOPs, and documentation for the Service Technician group.
** Quality & Compliance
*** Ensure repair processes comply with ACIST Medical Quality Policy, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ESD precautions, and OSHA guidelines.
* Generate and maintain Quality System Records and related documentation.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to process efficiency, documentation accuracy, and material management.
* Update device history and complaint records, ensuring accuracy for invoicing and compliance.
** Technical Expertise
*** Troubleshoot, service, and repair complex electro-mechanical systems and subassemblies used in ACIST Medical Systems equipment.
* Identify and replace faulty components using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
* Test products to verify compliance with design specifications.
* Install and validate new software and hardware components as required.
* Review Engineering Change Orders and communicate necessary updates to the technician team.
* Manage replacement parts and perform accurate inventory transactions within the ERP/MRP system.
* Maintain technical competency through ongoing training and skill development.
