We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our weekend production shift at our Eden Prairie facility.

• Effectively supports production areas so that production output meets the production schedule.
• Move, wrap, band, and store materials in a safe, timely, and organized manner, accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure that all procedures are followed 100% of the time.
• Report continuous or major problems to Team Lead/Maintenance immediately.
• Effectively operate power equipment in a safe manner.
• Maintain and improve production's portion of APEX's quality systems.
• Verify all pallet tags/paperwork for accuracy.
• Verify all pallet quantities match pallet tags.
• Verify sequential pallet creation.
• Understand and maintain a culture of lean action within the department so that we live lean better than any organization.
• Implement and maintain standards and processes that eliminate waste throughout the department.
• Apply and utilize "lean tools" to permanently implement improvements.
• Institutionalize 5-S in all aspects of the department. (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain)
• Other duties as assigned.

Prior Experience
This position requires at least one year experience in material and product handling.

Knowledge and Skills
To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of material handling processes and material handling equipment. The person needs to understand or be capable of learning storing, and moving processes. Position also requires an understanding of auditing practices as it applies to cycle counting of materials. Basic math skills including counting, addition, subtraction, division and multiplication are required. The person needs to be able to use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, scales, banding/strapping pallets, and pallet stretch wrapping machine.

Licenses and Certifications
Forklift license is required and maintained.
