Compensation Range For Drill Locator
- $28.00 to $38.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Shift differential pay available for emergency work

Position Summary
This is an experienced level directional drill locator position who will primarily be responsible for locating, but may also operate various construction equipment at construction sites for trenching, bore drilling, and pulling underground fiber optic cabling. In this position you need to be an effective team member of your crew, working safely at all times, and being efficient.
Essential Functions
- Safely locate paths for 24x40 directional drills, communicating effectively with the drill operators in a variety of urban and rural areas
- Prepare construction site for trenching, bore drilling, or plowing
- Safely and securely load and unload construction equipment and materials
- Perform other crew related duties including drill operation, vac work, and crew support
- Must comply with all safety requirements and participate in required safety training
Essential Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years locating for a drill
- Experience using Digi Trak Falcon F5 locators
- Ability to operate directional drills
- Experience operating construction equipment
- Commercial driver’s license, Class A or ability to obtain Class A
- Ability to read instructions and take work direction verbally and in writing
- Physical ability to meet job requirements
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Pass background check
Pass pre‑employment drug testing - Travel may be required
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to operate construction equipment such as skid steer, mini‑excavator
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
This position requires frequent sitting, standing, climbing and bending, occasional kneeling and crawling as required. Close, peripheral and distant visual abilities are needed including depth perception. Requires ability to lift arms above shoulders. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. The work environment is frequently loud and requires the employee to work in a variety of weather elements including extreme cold and heat.
