Position Summary

Welder 1 at WM Technologies, LLC (affiliated with SPX Enterprises) performs MIG, TIG, and spot/resistance welding on Weil-McLain branded hydronic comfort heating systems. This is a 2nd shift position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret work orders and blueprints to set up welding equipment and produce quality components with minimal assistance.
  • Set up weld jigs or use miscellaneous holding techniques to maintain part specification.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, or spot welding, troubleshoot poor quality welds, and adjust equipment settings as needed.
  • Conduct first‑piece inspections, post‑weld grinding, and final painted part inspections to ensure quality standards.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
  • Operate fabrication and paint equipment as required.
Qualifications
  • Welding certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and spot/resistance welding on cold‑rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized and aluminized steel.
  • Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, metrology tools, and perform basic math (decimals, fractions).
  • Experience setting up weld jigs, using clamping methods, and performing routine preventive maintenance.
  • Excellent attendance, ability to stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work long hours in hot conditions.
