One of our newest factories, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

At Nestlé Purina Pet Care, we’re a “safety first” culture, driven by a zero accident, zero defect, zero waste mentality. As the Product Safety Technician, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Food Safety programs. You will perform pest control duties (treating for insects and removal of wildlife and pests) throughout the factory. You will conduct routine audits of the facility and outside storage facilities.

You will also monitor physical, chemical, and biological food safety hazards and implement control measures.

• Perform integrated pest management program in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Administer, maintain, and coach the factory sanitation programs to ensure that all products are manufactured in a sanitary environment
• Provide support and guidance to all departments regarding Food Safety issues
• Coordinate training and development of employees for all factory food safety programs
• Manage chemical supplies and sanitation services including, waste removal, custodian, yards, and grounds
• Support departmental coverage as needed

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ years of working in food safety, pest control, or industrial sanitation in a manufacturing, industrial or related environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $45,000.00 to $59,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
