Palliative Care Physician – St. Elizabeth Physicians

We are seeking a Palliative Physician to join a diverse, inter-disciplinary team that includes chaplaincy, social work, RN, and pharmacy support. Teaching opportunities are available for fellows, residents, and students in medical, nursing, and social work. Clinical interests can be tailored across an inpatient palliative medicine consulting service, outpatient palliative clinic, a 16‑bed inpatient hospice unit, and home‑based hospice visits. Shared call schedules support a quality work‑life balance.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide care services to patients and families to identify, control, or alleviate physical and emotional discomfort and other symptoms associated with serious illness.
• Hold intensive meetings with family members and coordinate care delivery across the health‑care setting.
• Collaborate with other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
• Maintain a highly visible presence and create a positive impression with patients, administration, and others.
• Support financial goals and objectives of St. Elizabeth Physicians and assist the Administrative and Management Teams.

Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited professional medical school and complete a post‑graduate residency in good standing.
• Complete a palliative medicine fellowship.
• Obtain a state license to practice as a Palliative Physician.
• Maintain board certification (within one year of lapse) with the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association, or become board certified within six years of graduation.
