Operating Room Registered Nurse

Job Type: Full time (Days Monday – Friday, no call, no holidays)
Reports to: Clinical Director
To provide exceptional, efficient, and cost‑effective orthopedic surgical services to every patient and family we serve.
Job SummarySupervises and directs patient care in the operating room, ensuring safe, high‑quality peri‑operative care.
Duties & Responsibilities- Organize nursing activities, supplies, and personnel for efficient case management.
- Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room, including patient transport and positioning.
- Pre‑accept and prepare operating rooms according to patient and procedure requirements.
- Identify the correct surgical intervention and communicate it to the surgical team.
- Assist anesthesia personnel and monitor patient during anesthesia administration.
- Maintain aseptic technique and monitor compliance with infection control policies.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients, ensuring privacy and dignity.
- Document patient care records accurately following policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality‑improvement, safety, compliance, and data collection activities.
- Assist with supply, drug, and equipment inventories to maintain stock levels.
- Support continuing education, staff orientation, and teaching activities.
- Respond promptly to patient and physician needs during procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Registered Nurse with an active license in Kentucky.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Leadership qualities and strong ethical character.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Cooperative work attitude toward co‑employees, patients, visitors, and physicians.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Experience in an ambulatory surgical center (ASC).
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness.
- Organization and strong leadership.
- Physical stamina for extended hours if needed.
- Attendance, punctuality, and adherence to instructions.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
- Visual and auditory acuity for computer use and patient assessment.
- Capability for occasional overhead/low reaching and moving quickly in response to patient needs.
- Ability to respond to emergencies or drills.
- Well‑lit and ventilated environment with both non‑hazardous and hazardous equipment.
- Exposure to blood and potentially infectious body fluids (Category III).
