We are seeking a Bioinformatician with experience analyzing multi-omics data sets to support innovative chemical and biological defense projects. The selected candidate will apply their academic and practical knowledge to develop and run data analysis pipelines for mass spectrometry-based data using classical and machine learning approaches. The role involves handling a wide variety of data collected from high-resolution, triple quadrupole, and miniaturized mass spectrometer platforms.
Under the guidance of senior professionals, the individual will perform tasks encompassing the development, testing, and evaluation of data analysis workflows for complex chemical and biological datasets. The candidate will contribute to advancing chemical and biological research that drives innovation to out-pace emerging threats while simultaneously providing modern solutions.
This role requires in-person support.
Duties:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to analyze and interpret mass spectrometry data and publish findings.
- Develop and run data analysis pipelines for both targeted and untargeted (Data Independent and Data Dependent acquisitions) data from proteomic, metabolomic, lipidomic, phosphoproteomic, and small molecule characterization experiments.
- Properly incorporate Quality Control (QC) and normalization strategies for mass spectrometry data.
- Apply appropriate statistical analyses and provide downstream interpretation of data through pathway enrichment analyses and data visualization.
- Utilize strong experience in scripting languages (Python, R), BASH, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster environments to implement and execute workflows.
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners to test and refine analysis methods and biological systems in diverse environments.
- Perform research to develop novel analysis methods and models to support tools with the latest advancements in mass spectrometry bioinformatics.
- Develop and implement dashboards or other graphical user interfaces for data visualization and interpretation and presentation of research products.
