1:1 Teaching Assistant – Challenging Behaviour Support
Location:
Edgware, North London
Pay: £90 upwards P/D (depending on experience)
Hours:
Full-time, term-time only
Start Date:
Immediate / ASAP
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a primary-aged pupil with significant behavioural and emotional needs
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to create a safe and structured learning environment
- Help the pupil regulate emotions, engage positively with peers, and remain focused in class
- Record and report progress, incidents, and strategies effectively
- Experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, or complex SEND
- Confidence managing physically or emotionally challenging situations
- A patient, firm, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Availability for a full-time, long-term role (Monday–Friday, term time)
- An enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply
