QTS / QTLS TEACHER - SPECIALIST POST-16 AUTISM PROVISION

Are you a QTS or QTLS-qualified Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to the lives of young adults with additional needs?

We are recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher to join a specialist Post-16 provision in Edgware, supporting young adults aged approximately 19–25 with autism and complex learning difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who wants to move beyond a traditional classroom environment and help learners develop the academic, communication, employability, independence and life skills they need for adulthood.

You will deliver highly personalised learning programmes, working closely with specialist staff to help students:

• Develop communication and social interaction skills
• Build independence and confidence
• Develop employability and vocational skills
• Prepare for adulthood and life beyond education
• Access the local community and develop practical life skills
• Work towards personalised EHCP outcomes
• Develop their individual strengths, interests and aspirations

The setting places strong emphasis on:

The curriculum includes pathways focused on Working Life and Independence, with opportunities including horticulture, catering, retail, social enterprise, community activities and independent living skills.

• QTS or QTLS
• Experience teaching or supporting learners with autism / complex needs is highly desirable
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Ability to adapt lessons to individual learning needs
• Strong understanding of personalised learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine commitment to helping young adults become more independent
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

The provision is located on Edgware High Street, a short walk from Edgware Underground Station on the Northern Line.
