Overview

We are advertising a new and exciting role as a Band 5 Breast Screening Health Inequalities Facilitator within the London Breast Screening Administration Hub (Hub), based within our Edgware Community Hospital site. The key aim of this role will be to support the Health Inequality Lead and work collaboratively with the screening services to deploy an evidence‑based framework towards the common aim of increasing uptake for breast screening in London to 70%.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Health Inequality Lead and collaborate with screening services to deploy evidence‑based framework to increase breast screening uptake to 70%.
  • Work within the Hub health inequalities team to encourage and improve London uptake within breast screening and reduce health inequalities in the eligible screening population.
  • Identify inequalities and interventions that can improve access and reduce inequalities for women by implementing the national breast screening strategy.
  • Collate and provide comprehensive strategic data alongside health equity audits to support and facilitate the implementation of a regional data‑driven health strategy plan to tackle inequalities and improve breast screening uptake.
  • Identify reasons for women not attending for breast screening and support eligible women to navigate through the screening pathway.
  • Target women in low‑uptake GP practices to increase the number of women who attend.
  • Contribute to improved outcomes such as earlier diagnosis, effective treatment packages, and saving lives.
Eligibility

You must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom or meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route. We welcome applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship, and these will be considered alongside all other applications.
