Responsibilities
  • Hours for this role are Monday - Friday, between 8a-5p
  • As a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) at Prairie Care, you will deliver client-centered and interactive Occupational Therapy services.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise the occupational care of patients, working as a team with the care team.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' mental, emotional, and physical health, identifying strengths, challenges, and specific needs.
  • Goal Setting:
    Collaborate with patients to establish personalized, achievable goals that focus on improving daily functioning and quality of life.
  • Team Work:
    Collaborate with clinical teams and participate in milieu management as appropriate.
  • Intervention Planning:
    Develop tailored intervention plans addressing patient needs and goals, incorporating therapeutic activities to promote skill development.

    Activities:

    Facilitate activities that help patients develop skills for daily living, including self-care, social interaction, and leisure.
  • Coping Strategies and Skills Training:
    Teach coping strategies to manage stress and mental health symptoms; provide training in social skills and problem-solving.
  • Education and Support:
    Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and the role of OT in recovery; offer support and guidance.
  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:
    Work with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care; participate in team meetings to discuss progress.
Qualifications
  • Requires graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, is certified as an Occupational Therapist, and holds current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (Registered in the State of Minnesota).
  • Level II fieldwork experience in psycho-social OT is strongly preferred for newly graduated candidates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under stress.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay range: $70,000 to $85,000 depending on education and experience, plus benefits, licensure reimbursement, and paid CEUs.
