The Department of Primary & Community Care, Division of Primary & Preventive Care, is seeking a full time Physician for a medical school affiliated Family Medicine clinical practice located in the Rio Grande Valley. The faculty member is expected to maintain an outpatient clinical practice that may include supervision of residents and advanced practitioners and teaching medical students. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.
Minimum Qualifications- Current Board certification in Family Medicine
- Possess/able to obtain a valid Texas medical license
- Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Primary & Community Care
- Proven experience building inclusive, trust-based relationships with medical staff and a strong reputation for engaging and supporting patient populations
- Three (3) years of experience in outstanding clinical practice, preferably in an academic setting with demonstration of strong leadership skills, and success in teaching residents and medical students
- Bilingual/Medical Spanish is preferred but not required

Additional InformationUTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
