Water Usage Analyst I

Operates computer to prepare meter reading devices for use by Meter Readers each day.
Communicates between meter reading and billing departments, taking files from master computer to set meter reading devices with current customers for each billing cycle.
Programs all meter reading devices for field reading collection. Inputs each billing cycle into the system for communication between meter readers for each customer who reports problems in recovering proper readings.
Analyzes any discrepancies in readings and prepares work orders to recover information. Processes all information recovered and updates the master computer for billing calculation.
Inputs responses at times of readings to create work orders for repairs, construction, and historical purposes.
Performs all meter detector check reporting and works with the Meter Reader department to ensure checks are performed. Maintains annual BPAT testing log, sends out customer notification regarding required BPAT testing, and ensures all BPAT testing is completed as needed.
Participates in job specific training and other required corporate training programs. Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements- A self-starting individual who possesses a high school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year prior working experience at a water supply corporation or public utility.
- Ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
- Good written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Visual and mental concentration necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at a computer for long periods of time in a fast paced environment and handling frequent interruptions.
- Extended periods of sitting in front of a computer and the ability to frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
- Bilingual (verbal and written) in English and Spanish.
Prior experience working at a public utility with a meter reader department is preferred.
