Assistant CNO FT Behavioral

South Texas Health System is seeking an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) for our Behavioral Health Services.

• Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), support the integration, coordination, and direction of nursing and patient care within the overall hospital operation.
• Assist the CNO in ensuring provision of care that meets current medical and nursing standards, acting as CNO when needed.
• Support nursing and patient care to ensure delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care in line with the mission, vision, values, and regulatory requirements of South Texas Health System.
• Participate in the hospital’s strategic planning and contribute to achieving institutional goals and objectives.
• Promote a culture of Service Excellence across all customer groups.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational oversight for assigned departments and implement strategies of the CEO, COO, CNO, and corporation.
• Manage assigned departments efficiently to maximize quality of services and hospital profitability.
• Assist with service line and business development activities in the assigned areas of responsibility.

• 3–5 or more years of progressive nursing management experience in an acute care or behavioral health setting.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of nursing clinical practices and management within the hospital setting.
• ensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees.
• Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions, including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects.
• Commitment to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, with adherence to all policies and procedures and immediate reporting of suspected compliance issues.

BSN degree required; MSN preferred.
Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas.
