Your new company
Our client is a highly respected and long-established independent accountancy practice with a strong presence in the Scottish market. Known for delivering a personal and director-led service, the firm has built an excellent reputation for supporting owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurial companies, charities, and not-for-profit organisations across a broad range of sectors.
The firm has invested significantly in creating a modern working environment, operating from a purpose-built office designed to encourage collaboration, innovation, and team engagement. Despite its continued growth and professional success, the practice has retained a genuine family feel, where employees are valued as individuals and teamwork sits at the heart of the culture. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and supportive business that places equal importance on client service and employee wellbeing.
Your new role
As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in the delivery of audit and assurance assignments for a varied portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for planning and leading audits on-site and remotely, overseeing fieldwork, reviewing work completed by junior team members, and acting as a key point of contact throughout the engagement process.
Working closely with managers and partners, you will build strong client relationships and gain exposure to a diverse range of industries and business structures. In addition to audit assignments, you may also have the opportunity to support wider accounts and advisory projects, giving you broader exposure and allowing you to develop a well-rounded skill set.
You will also contribute to the development of junior staff through ongoing coaching and mentoring, helping to maintain the firm's high standards while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification, with previous audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment. You will possess strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively.
Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will regularly engage with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, takes pride in delivering exceptional client service, and is looking to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a firm that genuinely values work-life balance and employee wellbeing. One of the standout benefits is a condensed four-day working week, providing greater flexibility and allowing you to enjoy a better balance between your professional and personal commitments without compromising on career progression.
You will also benefit from working in a modern, purpose-built office alongside a friendly and collaborative team that has retained a genuine family feel. The firm offers a competitive salary and benefits package, ongoing professional development, mentorship from experienced leaders, and clear opportunities for career progression within a growing and ambitious practice.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an Audit Senior seeking a role where they can continue to develop professionally while enjoying a supportive culture, modern working environment, and an excellent approach to work-life balance.
