Your new company
This is an opportunity to join a growing independent firm of chartered accountants with an established presence in Central Scotland. The firm works closely with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and private clients, providing a broad range of services including accounts, tax, VAT, payroll and business advisory support. Their approach is relationship-led, with a strong emphasis on delivering practical advice, excellent client service and long-term partnerships.
Your new role
As an Accounts Senior, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. You will work closely with business owners and directors, building trusted relationships and supporting them with their accounting and compliance requirements.
Alongside accounts preparation, you will assist with management accounts, VAT returns and bookkeeping reviews, while liaising with colleagues across tax and advisory services where required. The role offers genuine variety and the opportunity to become a key point of contact for clients, providing proactive support and helping junior team members develop.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment and be comfortable preparing statutory accounts for a range of clients.
You may be AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA or CA qualifications, or already professionally qualified. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be working directly with clients and building long-term relationships. Experience using cloud accounting software and a proactive, organised approach to managing deadlines will also be beneficial.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a supportive and collaborative firm that values its people and encourages professional development. You will gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio and have the opportunity to broaden your technical and commercial skillset.
The firm offers a competitive salary, flexible working options, professional development support and the chance to develop your career within a growing independent practice where your contribution will be recognised and rewarded.
