Meraki Talent are working with a leading financial services organisation in Edinburgh that are looking to hire a Fund Accounting professional with audit experience across Private Equity, Private Capital, Hedge Funds or NAV-based investment structures.

This is an opportunity to take the specialist knowledge you have built in audit and apply it directly within an industry environment, gaining greater ownership of the underlying funds, financial reporting and investment structures.

As part of this role, you will join an established fund accounting team and work closely with investment, operations, finance and other internal stakeholders.

Your audit background will be highly relevant, particularly where you have developed an understanding of complex investment structures, fund financial statements, NAV calculations and the accounting considerations associated with alternative investments.

The role will include:

• Supporting the preparation and review of fund accounts and financial reporting
• Reviewing NAV calculations and investigating accounting or valuation differences
• Working with complex Private Equity, Private Capital, Hedge Fund and/or NAV fund structures
• Reviewing investment activity, income, expenses and capital movements
• Supporting period-end and year-end reporting processes
• Working closely with administrators, auditors, investment teams and other stakeholders
• Applying accounting standards and fund-specific reporting requirements
• Improving processes, controls and reporting efficiencies
• Supporting the ongoing development of the fund accounting function

We are particularly interested in candidates currently working in audit who are ready to make their first move into industry.

Applicants should have gained audit experience within Private Equity, Private Capital, Hedge Funds, Asset Management or Investment Funds, as well as exposure to auditing NAV-based funds and investment structures.

This role is detail orientated and will appeal to those with strong analytical, data skills as well as strong attention to detail skills. Additionally, this role will allow you to build on your existing technical accounting and audit experience while developing broader commercial and operational exposure within the investment-management industry.

Applicants who are ACCA / ICAS qualified or nearing qualification would be of particular interest for this exciting opportunity.
