Legal Secretary - 3-4 Month Temporary Contract
Location: Edinburgh (City Centre)Salary: £36,000Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pmStart: ImmediateContract Length: 3-4 months (potential for extension depending on business needs)
About the Role
A highly regarded Edinburgh law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong document production skills and experience working within a legal environment. You'll support partners, associates and trainees with a wide mix of administrative and document management duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Typing correspondence and legal documents, including digital dictation and manuscript amendments using track changes
- Redacting, collating and saving documents using PDFDocs
- Creating credential documents in Power Point
- Preparing organisation charts using Smart Draw
- Compiling data in Excel
- Running legal comparisons
- Drafting and sending letters and emails where appropriate
- Scanning, photocopying and organising engrossments
- Handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately
- Diary management and booking meeting rooms using Teams
- Liaising with clients in person and by telephone
- Producing WIP reports using Elite 3E
- Providing reception cover during periods of annual leave
About You
- Previous experience as a Legal Administrator within a law firm
- Strong communication skills when dealing with clients, partners and colleagues
- Audio and copy typing speed of at least 60wpm
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Smart Draw and Big Hand
- Comfortable using Teams and managing inbox communications
- Working knowledge of office equipment including photocopiers and scanners
- Able to take instruction from partners, associates, and trainees
- Professional and pleasant telephone manner
- High attention to detail and strong document accuracy
- Willingness to develop IT skills through training
