Summary:
** These are Full Time, Permanent positions. Proposed Interview Dates are 20th & 21st July 2026.
ROLE AND PURPOSE To perform reception duties and provide administrative support to the Early Help Teams across a locality area and be responsible for disseminating information about Children’s Centres and other Early Help services within the area. To work flexibly across the locality to meet the needs of the service.
If the postholder requires a Standard or Enhanced DBS disclosure the candidate is required to declare full details of everything on their criminal record unless the conviction/s and/or caution/s are considered “protected” in line with filtering rules for DBS checks.
** PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
** 1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
2. Undertakes clerical duties of a non-routine nature which may involve information/materials of a confidential nature (such as personal records), which may require a degree of interpretation and initiative 3. Use IT equipment to the extent of manipulating programs, instigating ad hoc enquiries or utilising training with reference to operating manuals.
4. Advises staff and members of the public by providing and explaining information. Seeks alternative sources of assistance/information when necessary.
5. Services meetings as required, which involves taking and preparing minutes and undertaking any follow-up action.
6. Collects, collates and prepares information, data and statistics, ensuring accurate and timely inputting into Liquid Logic and other IT systems.
7. Prepares and sends letters and reports on routine matters.
8. Collects, balances and banks cash, issues receipts when necessary.
9. Prepares and issues orders for goods, services and equipment. Checks deliveries and initials goods received. Responsible for financial and procurement transactions using the Corporate system.
10. Assists with supervision and training of junior staff and volunteers when required.
11. Manages Early Help promotional activities and marketing ie, Facebook, texting service, emails, newsletters, timetables, posters and noticeboards, ensuring they are accurate and up to date, promoting excellent customer services and working in partnership with parents and children.
12. To meet, greet and communicate effectively with visitors, families, and professionals who use the centres.
13. Performs such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
14. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate H&S policy.
