Salary: AfC Band 7 37hrs per week
We are looking to recruit to an exciting opportunity in NHS Lothian’s Resilience Team. Individuals should be well motivated and with the ability to learn quickly and grow into the job.
We are seeking an individual with experience of working in a Category 1 provider such as the NHS and with the right attitude and approach to make a substantial contribution to our organisational resilience.
It is desirable for applicants to have some experience and training in Emergency Planning, Business Continuity or other relevant discipline. Further training will be provided as part of a personal development plan.
The purpose of this post is to provide specialist advice on Emergency Planning and Resilience to improve preparedness, resilience and recovery across NHS Lothian and to ensure the organisation complies with national guidance and legislation.
The post holder will advise on policy; provide support in response to emergency incidents and develop and deliver training and exercising to enhance knowledge, procedures, and operational capability, in consultation with internal and external partners.
In line with the above, the post holder will be part of a team who are responsible for ensuring NHS Lothian can discharge its responsibilities as a Category 1 responder as set out in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and associated supporting guidance for Scotland.

As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
