An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join our Edinburgh Procurement function as a Sub-Contract Manager in our Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. Leonardo is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance across land, sea and air.
Job DescriptionThe Sub-Contract Manager will be responsible and accountable for the creation of supplier contracts to ensure contractual compliance in line with internal and external governance. They will contribute towards developing appropriate sourcing strategies at all phases of the product lifecycle, manage and report on their own work packages and areas of responsibility, work independently and be involved in supplier account management activities.
WhatYou Will Do As a Sub-Contract Manager
- Responsible for putting in place the appropriate contractual agreements, including but not limited to internal and external customer flow downs, NDAs, TAAs, EUSs, Export licences, price agreements, Statements of Work, purchase orders, etc.
- Preparing the relevant RFQs and contractual documentation packs such as Bid Packs, Contractual Terms, Price Agreements and Statements of Work.
- Demonstrate an ability to consolidate and summarise information and report upwards to internal stakeholders.
- Creating and presenting contractually compliant packs for internal and external audits (e.g. government bodies or their agencies).
- Market analysis and benchmarking of supplier pricing to ensure price reasonableness is achieved and documented.
- Plan and execute the negotiation of supplier pricing and other contractual terms and provide reports on this for internal/external audit purposes.
- Providing analysis of material pricing to support the Product Cost Review Boards (PCRBs), highlighting cost reduction opportunities in line with declared project/product targets.
- Identify and encourage supplier competition for material requirements, utilising the Source Review Board (SRB) process as an enabler.
- Prepare varied Lifecycle Management reports such as Procurement Plans to outline the status and progress of material sourcing, contractual compliance and bid support.
- Manage the associated material budget, reporting on aspects such as revenue forecasting and estimate to complete.
- Responsible for the management of supplier delivery performance of NPI contracts throughout the contract lifecycle in line with defined KPIs.
- Identify and manage risk and opportunity, working collaboratively with suppliers and members of the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
- Placement of orders and robust contracts that are agreed and acknowledged by the supplier, execution of contracts to conclusion of both product deliverables and non‑deliverables.
- Maintain an understanding of configuration control and updating the supplier contracts as changes are intimated to keep an effective baseline.
- Providing guidance to less experienced team members through support and knowledge sharing.

- CIPS preferred but not essential.
- Working knowledge of Trade / Export Compliance.

Travel RequirementsSome travel may be necessary (within the UK, Europe and wider afield) however this should be relatively infrequent.
Security ClearanceThis role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
