Are you an experienced data analyst who thrives on solving complex problems and turning detailed data into meaningful insights? Do you enjoy influencing senior stakeholders and improving how organisations understand customer outcomes? If so, this opportunity could be your perfect next move.

We are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to join our high‑performing Analytics & Reporting team. This team plays a crucial role in transforming customer, operational, commercial and market data into high‑quality insight that drives governance, strategy and decision‑making across the organisation.

As a Senior Business Data Analyst, your insights will directly influence strategy, governance and customer‑focused decisions. You’ll work with senior stakeholders, shape analytical approaches and help elevate the organisation’s understanding of customer behaviour, outcomes and performance.

You’ll also play a key role in enhancing reporting processes, improving data quality and building analytical capability within the team.

About the role:
  • Lead the delivery of accurate, well‑structured analysis and reporting for Senior Managers and decision‑makers.
  • Designing, producing and continuously improving core strategic reporting, such as the Quarterly Customer Report, Market & Competitor Report, Voice of the Customer analysis, Strategy Board insights and customer performance dashboards.
  • Take ownership of more complex analytical tasks—shaping problem statements, refining approaches and ensuring high analytical standards.
  • Lead the delivery of end to end analysis and reporting, ensuring outputs are accurate, clear and aligned to business priorities.
  • Coordinate work and provide support or guidance to colleagues to ensure consistent analytical discipline.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders (e.g., Senior Managers, Product Owners, Lifestage teams) to understand needs and highlight emerging insights.
  • Use Group Data Office assets and analytical tools to develop reliable datasets, strengthen reporting efficiency and enhance self‑service capabilities.
  • Support strong governance by applying robust controls, maintaining documentation and ensuring data quality across all outputs.
  • Contribute to analysis that supports the Customer Outcomes Framework, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
About you
  • Strong experience analysing large datasets using structured techniques, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of financial services, including regulatory considerations and customer‑outcome expectations.
  • Confident use of BI and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel), with the ability to contribute to dashboard and data model improvements.
  • Understanding of risk management, documentation standards and good data‑handling practices.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple strands of work independently.
  • Curious, proactive and committed to analytical excellence.
  • Skilled at breaking down complex data and distilling clear, essential messages.
  • Confident in presenting insight and adapting communication style to different audiences.
  • Collaborative, constructive and able to build strong working relationships across teams.
  • Resilient, organised and motivated to deliver high‑quality work to challenging deadlines.
  • Comfortable shaping analytical approaches in areas of ambiguity.
