Procurement Officer (Part-Time, 21 Hours per Week)
OverviewWe are seeking a proactive and organised Procurement Officer to support the efficient sourcing, purchasing, and management of goods and services across the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building supplier relationships, negotiating value, and ensuring smooth operational workflows. You'll work closely with internal teams to understand requirements and help maintain cost-effective, compliant procurement processes. A forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day procurement activities, including raising purchase orders, obtaining quotes, and processing requisitions.
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and value for money.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier information.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment of materials and equipment.
- Support tendering processes and assist with supplier performance reviews.
- Liaise with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant procurement regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement systems and processes.
- (If applicable) Assist with warehouse or stockroom tasks; a forklift licence is desirable but not essential for these duties.
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a related administrative role.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Competence with procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Forklift licence (counterbalance or similar).
- Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or stock‑controlled environment.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management.
- 21 hours per week, with flexibility on how these hours are arranged (subject to operational needs)
