Position: Head of Sales (Scotland)

The Head of Sales is a pivotal leadership role at Redsquid, responsible for driving revenue growth, shaping commercial strategy, and creating and leading a high‑performing sales team. This role blends strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring that customer relationships, partner ecosystems, and internal sales practices are aligned to deliver scalable and sustainable growth.

  • Monday to Friday: 37.5 hours per week

Develop and strengthen client relationships through regular engagement, identify opportunities for growth, and oversee the creation of tailored digital roadmaps and QBRs to increase recurring revenue, project work, and strategic partnerships.

The role is also responsible for enhancing overall commercial performance in the region by embedding scalable sales practices and supporting business development initiatives. A key part of the remit involves shaping deal structures, pricing strategies, and ensuring all commercial practices are clearly documented, communicated, and aligned with operational and sales objectives—as well as broader company policies.

Duties & Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Inspire, coach, and develop the sales team to exceed performance targets.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture to build succession plans and talent pipelines. Ensure development plans are in place and followed by the account management team to follow the company’s vision.

Customer First Approach

  • Ensure a customer‑first culture where the sales and account management team develop close relationships that foster Redsquid’s value as their technology partner.

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the commercial strategy across all customer segments.
  • Lead the development of digital roadmaps tailored to individual customer needs.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams, including upsell, cross‑sell, and project‑based opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Ensure regular engagement and feedback loops to strengthen retention and satisfaction.
  • Represent Redsquid at industry events and partner forums.
  • Oversee deal structuring, pricing strategy, and bid development.
  • Ensure all commercial practices are documented, communicated, and compliant.
  • Drive margin optimisation and profitability across the portfolio.
  • Develop accurate and consistent deals and bids across the group.
  • Tactical plans for selling our IT and UC products and services, built on in‑depth knowledge of both the technologies and the sales process.
  • Work closely with the account management and sales team by assisting them on customer meetings and ensuring digital roadmaps and QBRs are being developed for each customer.
  • Analyse sales, marketing, finance, and other data to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximise growth.
  • Manage contract negotiations and build our commercial acumen.
  • Oversee and manage Out‑of‑Contract targets with strategic planning to ensure a consistent level.
  • Analyse sales performance of the team and ensure targets are consistently met.
  • Analyse the company’s commercial performance and find opportunities to optimise margins.
  • Create and analyse sales, marketing, finance and other reports to gain insights into how to improve performance and maximise growth on an individual, team, entity and group level.
Skills and Experience Required as a Head of Sales
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Hands‑on commercial experience in a telecoms/IT business.
  • Management experience of sales teams.
  • Experience working with multiple levels of management and colleagues.
  • Highly efficient in operating Excel.
  • Proven skills in negotiation, analysis, logic, problem‑solving, crisis management, and leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and relationships.
  • High detail‑oriented and motivated.
  • Strong business judgment and excellent presentation skills showing clear analysis.
