About the role
As a Control Centre Team Leader – UK, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the UK Control Centre, ensuring the safe and efficient monitoring of BESS, wind and solar assets. You will work closely with the team to provide structure, guidance and support, while building consistent ways of working and improving overall performance.
What you will do- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the UK Control Centre and ensure reliable monitoring of BESS, wind and solar assets.
- Support and develop a small team of operators, providing guidance, structure and regular feedback.
- Set clear priorities and expectations for the team, ensuring consistent ways of working and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, including WTSR.
- Act as the main point of contact for operational topics, coordinating with internal teams, customers and service providers.
- Drive improvements in processes and ways of working, focusing on efficiency and quality of service.
- Monitor operational performance and support actions to reduce downtime and improve response times.
- Work closely with other Control Centres (Munich and Bangkok) to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members.
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, renewable energy or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in renewable energy operations (wind, solar or BESS), ideally within a control room or O&M environment.
- Experience leading shifts, supervising teams or acting as a senior operator with accountability for day‑to‑day performance.
- Good understanding of safe systems of work and UK HSE requirements (WTSR knowledge desirable).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage operational workloads effectively.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with a practical and service‑oriented approach.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to bring structure and improve ways of working.
- Comfortable using digital tools and monitoring systems.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience with BESS operations, balancing mechanism or energy markets.
- Exposure to process improvement or quality management systems.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and on‑call duties.
