Business Systems & Technology Analysis, Business Analyst
Location: City of Edinburgh
Provn are proud to be partnered with an international investment manager as they look to hire an Business Analyst to join their technology transformation programme.
Our client currently delivering a major systems transformation, migrating from legacy platforms. It’s a genuinely large-scale programme: alongside the current migration, the client has a further system upgrade and two additional migrations planned for 2028, meaning this is the start of sustained transformation work rather than a single, isolated project.
The role sits across two strands. First, mapping legacy workflow and integration points as the business transitions to the new platform - understanding how systems currently talk to each other and defining what needs to happen in the new world. Second, working directly with business users on the specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Produce business requirements documents for legacy system integration points
- Map current-state workflow and integration points, and define what’s required to replicate or improve them in the target platform
- Work directly with technical SMEs to define specifications
- Translate business requirements into clear, testable specifications for delivery teams
- Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders across the organisation
- Support the wider migration programme in identifying and de-risking legacy integration dependencies
- Work alongside other integration BAs on the programme, contributing to a shared, consistent approach
- Provide input into programme-level planning as scope expands across future migrations
- Proven senior BA experience producing business requirements documents for system-to-system data integrations
- Experience with data warehousing, data migration, or legacy-to-target integration mapping
- Confidence working to data item level detail alongside business and technical stakeholders
- Experience with regulatory systems
- Join a large-scale, multi-year transformation programme at an early, high-impact stage
- Direct exposure to a newly implemented enterprise data platform — rare experience in the UK market
- Genuine potential for extension beyond the initial six months as the programme scope grows
- High-visibility role working directly with actuaries and senior business stakeholders
This is a chance to shape a platform that’s still actively growing, with genuine ownership over technical direction rather than just execution.
