We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, reporting to the Commercial Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost management aspects of residential developments, refurbishments, and commercial projects from pre-contract to post-contract stages.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility as Quantity Surveyor for the financial and contractual control of assigned projects.
Forecast, monitor, and report project progress accurately to ensure budgets are maintained.
Advise on all contract and commercial matters, maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Implement robust cost control procedures, including budgeting, valuations, and cost reconciliation.
Prepare tenders, procure subcontractors, goods, and materials, and process orders and payments.
Evaluate and agree variations, ensuring approvals align with budgetary constraints.
Contribute to design options, ensuring projects remain within budgeted values.
Monitor site progress and report on cash flow, costs, and overall commercial performance.
Support health & safety planning, risk assessments, and method statements.
Attend project meetings and present the Commercial position clearly to stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor, with strong experience managing clients, subcontractors, and supply chains.
Highly numerate, with excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships internally and externally.
Knowledge of construction regulations, NHBC standards, and health & safety obligations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a full UK Driving Licence.
CSCS card and SMSTS certificate desirable (training can be provided if required).
