About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to oversee a hotel refurbishment project in Edinburgh on a 12‑week contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractors and labour on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme within a partly live environment.

This role requires someone with strong health & safety awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain a professional client‑facing approach throughout the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day site operations on a live hotel refurbishment project
  • Manage subcontractors and site labour to ensure works are completed safely and efficiently
  • Monitor programme and progress to ensure project deadlines are achieved
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety across site at all times
  • Coordinate trades and manage site logistics within a partly occupied environment
  • Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, and senior management
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of the project
  • Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, and progress reports
  • Identify and resolve any on‑site issues proactively to minimise delays
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Site Manager on fit‑out or refurbishment projects
  • Hotel refurbishment experience preferred
  • Experience working within live or partly live environments
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification essential
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
  • Available to start immediately or at short notice
