Job Summary

The Site Manager is responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient day-to-day delivery of construction projects, ensuring works are completed to programme, budget and quality requirements. The role leads site teams and subcontractors, maintains high standards of health, safety and quality, and ensures compliance with Building Regulations, Planning requirements, CDM Regulations and the Building Safety Act. The Site Manager acts as the primary site-based leader, driving operational performance and customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.

Daily Responsibility
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of sites and social housing projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Lead, coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, Planning conditions and company procedures.
  • Monitor site safety, quality, productivity and progress, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Maintain site records, inspections, permits, audits and compliance documentation to required standards.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, residents, local authorities and other stakeholders to support successful delivery on site.
  • Assist the Project Manager and commercial team by providing accurate progress updates, resource requirements and information relating to project performance.
Other Duties
  • Support project mobilisation and pre-start planning activities.
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of Assistant Site Managers and site-based personnel.
  • Promote continuous improvement, best practice and company values.
  • Support customer care and resident engagement activities where required.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
Person Specification Qualifications
- Essential
  • SMSTS.
  • CSCS Manager Card.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
- Desirable
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Building Studies or related discipline.
  • Scaffold Inspection qualification.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.
  • CIOB membership or working towards…
