Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a groundworks and civil engineering project based in Edinburgh, working alongside Tier 1 contractors.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and civil engineering, with proven experience managing site operations, subcontractors, labour and plant on major construction projects.

This is a hands-on site management position requiring someone who can take responsibility for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of works while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

• Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations across groundworks and civil engineering activities.
• Coordinate subcontractors, site operatives, plant and materials.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.
• Liaise closely with the Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and the Tier 1 main contractor.
• Monitor progress against programme and identify potential delays or issues.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and site documentation are understood and adhered to.
• Carry out regular site inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety requirements.
• Manage site teams and provide clear direction and leadership.
• Coordinate daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions where required.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and ensure works meet project specifications.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports and site documentation.
• Assist with planning and coordinating upcoming works, including labour, plant and materials.
• Identify and resolve site-based issues promptly and effectively.

• Proven Site Management experience within groundworks and civil engineering.
• Strong civils/groundworks background with a practical understanding of construction activities.
• Experience working on projects for, or directly alongside, Tier 1 contractors.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors, labour and plant.
• Strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements.

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and RAMS.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage site teams effectively.

Salary is dependent on experience, with future projects across the central belt. Start date ideally the end of September
