Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Procurement / Purchasing, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Perfect role for a mid professional looking to grow their Property & Construction career in Edinburgh.
Edinburgh's construction pipeline has been busy for years, and it isn't slowing down. New residential schemes, commercial refurbishments and infrastructure work all need someone on the ground keeping contractors, budgets and timelines honest. This particular business is a fast-growing property and construction startup, small enough that decisions happen in a corridor conversation rather than a committee. As a Building Project Manager here, you won't be one voice among fifty.
You'll be one of a handful shaping how projects actually get delivered.
- Running live construction projects across Edinburgh from pre-start through to handover, keeping cost, quality and programme all moving together
- Coordinating architects, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers so nobody's waiting on anybody else
- Tracking budgets and flagging cost overruns before they become a problem, not after
- Chairing site meetings and writing reports that people actually read and act on
- Managing risk assessments, method statements and health and safety compliance across each site
- Reviewing drawings and specifications against build quality and raising issues early
- Solid experience managing construction or building projects, ideally within Property & Construction
- Working knowledge of RICS, RIBA or NEC contract frameworks (you don't need to know all three cold, but one well)
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and translating them into practical site decisions
- Strong organisational skills. You'll be running several moving parts at once
- The confidence to push back on contractors and suppliers when something isn't right
- A CIOB, RICS or equivalent qualification is a plus, not a deal breaker
- £38,500 to £56,500, depending on experience
- Equity and stock options, because everyone here has a real stake in what gets built
- Flexible working hours around core site and office needs
- A genuine learning and development budget you're expected to use
- Office-based role in Edinburgh, working closely with a small, hands-on team rather than at arm's length
Property & Construction rewards people who can hold a project together under pressure, and those people don't stay junior for long. Edinburgh in particular has a steady mix of heritage restoration, new-build and commercial fit-out work, which means a Building Project Manager here builds a genuinely varied CV. Good ones move up fast, because good ones are hard to find.
