Position Overview
We are looking for a creative and imaginative Scottish fiddler (violinist) to perform in our Edinburgh Fringe variety show celebrating Scottish folk music.
Show Details- Venue:
Fringe Venue 197 (St Vincent's Chapel) - Dates and times:
- Tuesday 11 August 2026 – 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Thursday 13 August 2026 – 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Saturday 15 August 2026 – 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Wednesday 19 August 2026 – 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Friday 21 August 2026 – 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM
- Perform in five one‑hour shows during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026
- Collaborate with the award‑winning pianist, Scots singer and piper to create an engaging show celebrating traditional Scottish music
- Rehearse for a total of 3 hours ahead of the performances
- Scottish folk fiddler or violinist with experience in traditional Scottish music
- Ability to sing while playing violin (preferred)
- Creative and imaginative performer who can collaborate in a multidisciplinary group
Contract type:
Freelance. Total fee: £374.96 for 8 hours of work (5 hours performing and 3 hours rehearsing) at a rate of £46.87 per hour.
