Scotland China Brief is seeking a reliable pool of freelance journalists to deliver high-quality reporting on Scotland’s business, trade and research links with China.
Launched in August 2026, Scotland China Brief is a highly specialist B2B publication serving Scottish stakeholders engaged with China. The outlet provides concise, impartial reporting for decision-makers in business, higher education, and government. We have a growing readership of Scottish business and university leaders, government officials, and policymakers. Our readers also include journalists and editors from national media.
We are looking for journalists who understand Scottish businesses and universities and are experienced in writing for decision-makers, not the general public. Our focus is on business intelligence – covering successful commercial partnerships and research collaborations – rather than geopolitical commentary. Specialist knowledge of China is a plus, but not a requirement.
Commissions will include one‑on‑one interviews with industry figures, features exploring complex topics in depth, and coverage of conferences, summits and other events.
We offer competitive rates and guarantee prompt payment.
