EntryCriteria for a Specialty Doctor
- Registered and have a Licence to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC).
- Has completed four years’ full‑time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a less than full‑time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the relevant specialty.
- Has equivalent training, experience or competencies, either in the UK or overseas.
Applications are welcome for the above fixed‑term, part‑time (20 hours per week) post based in Lauriston Buildings.
We are seeking a fixed‑term Specialty Dentist in Oral Surgery to fill a total of 5 sessions for 6 months available within the Edinburgh Dental Institute. Flexibility in relation to the sessions or job share will be considered. Internal applicants would be welcome and secondment considered.
This post offers an opportunity for the appointee to contribute to all aspects of the Oral Surgery service at the Edinburgh Dental Institute (EDI). They will work 5 PAs with the days of work to be agreed with the professional lead, clinical director and services manager. The post is based at the Edinburgh Dental Institute.
The post holder will be responsible to Laura Bryce, Professional Lead in Oral Surgery and the Clinical Director Susan Baines, Edinburgh Dental Institute and will work with colleagues within Oral Surgery and the wider Dental Institute.
Appropriately experienced applicants must have full registration with the General Dental Council, and have completed at least 4 years full‑time postgraduate training with demonstrable experience of supporting patients with Oral Surgery problems.
