Dental Therapist Vacancies (12-month fixed-term maternity leave locum contract)
Maternity Leave Locum 50.5 hours per week (AFC) Band 6 (£37,831 - £46,100 pro-rata)

NHS Lothian's Oral Health Service is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Dental Therapists to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. There are up to 50.5 hours per week available, with full-time or part-time options available, with an anticipated start date of January 2027.

The Oral Health Service provides dental care for priority patient groups across Lothian, including:

• Vulnerable adults requiring additional support
• Referred children with dental anxiety
• Patients within the prison service
• Patients with complex medical needs across hospital and oncology settings

Successful applicants must be willing to work across a range of locations throughout Lothian.

You will work within well-equipped clinical environments and be supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team. While experience working with these patient groups is desirable, it is not essential. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and excellent opportunities for professional development.

Applicants must:

• Hold a recognised Dental Therapy qualification
• Be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC)
• Have knowledge of the GDC Scope of Practice for Dental Therapists
• Be familiar with the GDC Standards for the Dental Team
• Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
