Job Description & How to Apply Below

Peace Recruitment are currently working with a design-led architectural studio based in central Edinburgh, working across a varied and technically interesting workload. The practice has built a strong reputation for thoughtful, context-driven architecture that balances creativity with commercial and technical reality. This is not a studio chasing trends or glossy imagery for the sake of it. The focus is on good architecture that works, lasts, and adds value to the people who use it.

They are now looking to appoint a Project Architect or Senior Architect to join the team as part of continued, steady growth. This is a role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, contributing ideas, and seeing projects through from early design stages to delivery on site. You will be trusted to run projects with a degree of autonomy, supported by experienced directors and senior colleagues who remain closely involved in the work.

The role will suit an architect who is confident coordinating consultants, communicating clearly with clients, and managing programmes and deliverables without needing their hand held. Design quality matters here, but so does technical competence. You should be comfortable developing designs through planning, producing coordinated technical packages, and resolving issues as projects progress. Site involvement and problem-solving are a normal part of the role, not an afterthought.

They are open to both Project Architects and Senior Architects, with flexibility around title depending on experience and capability. What matters most is attitude, judgement, and the ability to take ownership. You might already be operating at senior level, or you may be a strong Project Architect ready for the next step and more responsibility.

The studio environment is collaborative and professional, without unnecessary hierarchy. Ideas are shared, questions are encouraged, and people are expected to contribute rather than simply execute instructions. It is a place where architects are involved in the wider thinking behind projects, not just their allocated packages. The scale of the practice means your voice will be heard and your contribution will be visible.

They offer a supportive working environment, realistic expectations, and long-term career development rather than short-term churn. Progression is based on merit, capability, and trust, not time served. This is a role for someone looking to settle into a practice where they can grow, develop strong client relationships, and build a meaningful body of work over time.

If you are an architect who cares about design quality, enjoys the reality of delivering buildings, and wants to work in a studio where responsibility and trust go hand in hand, this role is well worth a conversation.
