Our first shop opened in 1981 in Penzance, selling durable clothing to artists and mariners. Today, we’re a modern, data-enabled omnichannel retailer with a growing international presence. We blend heritage with innovation, designing timeliness clothing made from responsibility sourced fabrics, and using technology to improve how we operate, grow and serve customers.

As we scale in the UK and internationally (primarily through third‑party partnerships), we’re investing in data, systems and digital capability to support our people and our growth. It’s an exciting time to join us!

As a UX Designer, you'll help shape the online experience for Seasalt customers, from browsing through to shopping bag and checkout. Combining user research, accessible design principles and strong UI skills, you'll make our website more enjoyable and inclusive to shop. Working across UX and product design, you'll contribute to discovery, research, wire framing, prototyping and detailed UI, depending on project needs.

Working closely with Developers, Product Managers and stakeholders across the business, you'll be part of a fast‑paced, collaborative Digital team where customer‑centred design, experimentation and accessibility are central to everything we do. Using user research, analytics and A/B testing to validate ideas and drive continuous improvement, you'll have real ownership of your work and its impact, while also exploring how AI can help enhance and accelerate the design process.

Please note this is a full‑time, permanent role which is based remotely within the UK, with occasional travel to our Cornwall head offices.

You’ll help us by:
  • Designing user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high‑fidelity interfaces for the ecommerce website using an iterative, user‑centred, iterative design process.
  • Re‑designing and optimising key ecommerce journeys, including navigation, search, product pages, filters, shopping bag and checkout, to improve usability, engagement and conversion.
  • Contributing to and maintaining the Seasalt Design System, creating reusable and accessible components aligned to ensure consistency across digital experiences.
  • Applying seasalt’s brand guidelines across digital products, collaborating closely with Creative and Graphics teams.
  • Managing multiple priorities across roadmap initiatives, optimisation projects and business‑as‑usual improvements.
  • Championing inclusivity and accessibility throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with WCAG standards and collaborating with developers to ensure this is tested, implemented and maintained.
  • Planning and conducting moderated and unmoderated usability testing, customer interviews and journey mapping to understand customer needs and shopping behaviours.
  • Analysing customer research, behavioural analytics, surveys and insights to identify opportunities and inform design decisions, communicating and measuring the impacts alongside key stakeholders.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
  • Experience working in a UX, Product Design or similar digital design role.
  • Confidence designing and prototyping in Figma, from early concepts through to high‑fidelity designs.
  • Experience planning and facilitating collaborative workshops with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, turning insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Comfortable presenting design rationale, research findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience designing accessible digital experiences in line with WCAG guidelines.
  • Customer‑focused and curious, with a passion for creating intuitive, accessible and inclusive experiences.
  • Collaborative and confident, able to facilitate discussions, bring people together and build alignment across teams.
  • Organised and adaptable, comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Data‑informed and pragmatic, using research,…
