Senior Design Manager

Client information

We are working with a leading construction organisation delivering a major 130m project and are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the project team.

• Lead and manage the design process across the 130m project from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• Ensure design information is delivered on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Lead design reviews, coordination meetings and technical workshops with key stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve design, technical and coordination issues before they impact the construction programme.
• Work closely with the Project Director, Commercial, Planning and Construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager within a main contractor environment.
• Experience working on major construction projects valued at 100m+
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the design and construction process.
• Experience managing consultants, designers, specialist subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, technical approvals and design risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, Building Regulations and CDM requirements.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline is desirable.

• 85,000 - 95,000 salary, depending on experience.
