Locum SHO – NHS Trust (ASAP Start) Role Overview
The post is for a Locum Senior House Officer (SHO) working within an NHS Trust on an agency locum basis. The doctor will provide high‑quality clinical care, support the multidisciplinary team, and ensure safe patient management across allocated wards and clinical areas. The role requires a clinician who can start as soon as possible and who holds valid Right to Work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver day‑to‑day clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients under consultant supervision.
- Participate in ward rounds, clerking of new admissions, and ongoing patient reviews.
- Support acute care areas including assessment units, emergency take, and on‑call duties (where applicable).
- Request and interpret investigations in line with Trust protocols.
- Prepare discharge summaries, documentation, and handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, AHPs, and senior medical teams.
- Escalate concerns promptly and contribute to safe clinical decision‑making.
- Participate in rota commitments including evenings, nights, and weekends (if required).
