Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
This is a full-time (10PAs) clinical post, specialising in Upper GI, NET and Renal Cancers. The post holder will be expected to provide a consultant-led service for Upper GI, NET and Renal Cancers including SACT, targeted therapies and immunotherapy, delivering care centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and in a peripheral clinic in NHS Fife. They will work closely with other colleagues to deliver across the SCAN region.
TheUpper GI Cancer team consists of the following oncologists:
- Dr Sorcha Campbell (CO)
- Dr Stuart Walter (CO)
- Dr Alan Christie (MO)
- New postholder
The Medical and Clinical Oncology teams work closely together to deliver upper GI cancer services across the SCAN region with clinics in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and NHS Fife. There is a weekly regional MDT. Systemic treatments are delivered centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and across SCAN with radiotherapy services being delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
TheEndocrine Team Consists Of The Following Oncologists
- New post-holder (replacing Dr Lucy Wall (MO))
- Dr Alan Christie (MO)
- Dr Sara Erridge (CO) Neuroendocrine
- Dr David Noble (CO) Thyroid
The Medical and Clinical Oncology teams, along with the Endocrine team, work closely together to deliver Endocrine cancer services across the SCAN region with clinics in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. There is a weekly regional MDT for NET and a monthly MDT for Thyroid. Systemic treatments are delivered centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre with radiotherapy services being delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
TheRenal Cancer Team consists of the following oncologists:
- Dr Mark Stares (MO)
- Dr Jennifer Allison (MO)
- New postholder
The Medical and Clinical GU Oncology teams work closely together to deliver renal cancer services across the SCAN region with clinics in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. There is a weekly regional MDT for GU, where renal cancers are discussed. Systemic treatments are delivered centrally in the Edinburgh Cancer Centre and across the SCAN region with radiotherapy services being delivered centrally at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital.
