Overview
Currie Community High School, located in the southwest of Edinburgh, is a designated community high school with a rich history of over 350 years, offering a comprehensive and high‑achieving curriculum. The RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated School Support Assistant to provide administrative support to faculty and the main school office. Key responsibilities include procurement, reprographics, and some finance administration. The role does not involve direct interaction with young people. The successful candidate will have experience working in a busy office environment, work flexibly to meet service needs, and be a competent user of ICT with excellent communication skills.
Hours& Flexibility
Hours:
20 per week, 39 weeks sessional (0.48
FTE). The working pattern will be agreed between the successful candidate and the school but must include Monday and Tuesday, with 20 hours spread over 3, 4 or 5 days. We are flexible about the exact arrangement.
£25,905 – £26,111 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional). The full‑time salary range is paid on a 39‑week sessional basis and is reviewed annually. This post provides approximately 48 % of the full‑time salary.
Pre‑employment ChecksThis post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG update check. A UK Overseas Criminal Record Check is required if the applicant has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years.
An unconditional offer of employment and commencement will be subject to satisfactory completion of these checks.
