Primary Teacher (Part‑time) – Balgreen Primary School
Role
:
Primary Teacher on a 12 month Fixed Term, 15 hours per week Monday & Tuesday.
Salary
: £33,594 – £50,589 pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional.
- Deliver high quality learning and teaching experiences for all pupils.
- Plan, implement and assess play‑based learning experiences to support literacy, numeracy and health and well‑being.
- Use data to inform learning and teaching, and assess, record and report pupil work.
- Work collaboratively with a stage partner to support pupils' development.
- Promote and safeguard pupils' health, welfare and safety, and maintain supportive classroom relationships.
- Experience as a primary teacher, with a strong track record in teaching.
- Skills in deploying a range of teaching strategies and resources aligned with pupils’ needs and abilities.
- Experience in building nurturing and supportive relationships with pupils.
- Experience in raising attainment through strong practice in planning, learning, teaching and assessment.
- Relevant experience of supporting pupils' needs in partnership with support staff, parents and other professionals.
- Undertaking continuous professional development as agreed.
- Experience in contributing to wider life of the school, including school planning and raising attainment.
Balgreen Primary School sits in the heart of the local community. The school draws families from diverse backgrounds providing a vibrant and unique ethos. The school is led by a management team consisting of a Head Teacher, one Deputy Head, one Principal Teacher and a Business Manager. The school has fourteen classes taught by a mix of full‑time and part‑time teachers and a Support for Learning Teacher.
Management and teachers are supported by a team of Pupil Support Assistants, a Nurture Pupil Support Officer, a School Administrator, a Clerical Assistant and a Facilities Technician.

Pre‑employment ChecksThis post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
