The University of Edinburgh welcomes applications for a prestigious Leverhulme Trust PhD Studentship exploring input and uptake in Mandarin‑speaking children. Starting in 2026, this award provides tuition coverage, a competitive stipend, and the chance to engage in innovative cross linguistic research.
Eligibility- Degree requirement: minimum 2:1 or MSc/MRes in a relevant discipline
- Student status: UK and international students starting their first PhD
- Funding: cannot hold another funded scholarship
- Nationality: UK and international students
- Award coverage: tuition fees + UKRI minimum stipend (£20,780 for 2025/26) for 3 years
- Full coverage of tuition fees
- Annual UKRI minimum stipend (£20,780 for 2025/26)
- Access to state‑of‑the‑art research labs, recording studios, technical support and a large developmental linguistics and psychology research community
- Opportunity to work on a major Leverhulme Trust‑funded cross linguistic project (2025–2029)
