UE06: 34610 to 39906 per annum – University Secretary’s Group / Student Wellbeing Service – Open Ended Contract – Permanent – Full Time – 35 hours.
We are looking for an individual to work proactively with students struggling with their mental health or wellbeing and who are having difficulty engaging with the range of wellbeing service provided through the University and external services. You will be enthusiastic, motivated and empathetic, with relevant experience to support students with mental health and wellbeing related concerns. This post is in person and on campus.
TheOpportunity
A fantastic opportunity to support students to fully participate and succeed in their chosen courses of study, working closely with University academic and support staff and external agencies as required. You will proactively work with students identified as having difficulty engaging with their studies due to mental health or wellbeing issues to ensure they are connected to the right support both academically and for their wellbeing.
KeySkills and Attributes
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to the complex areas of student wellbeing and support
- Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to remain calm and centre the needs of the student, providing a safe and welcoming space for students in distress.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and ability to set boundaries within a professional role
- Demonstrable skills in assessing the support a student may require within a framework
- Ability to prioritize workloads and deliver support within the parameters set by the Lead Wellbeing Adviser.
