Are you passionate about food, nutrition, and educating young minds? Academics is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Food Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Buckinghamshire starting in September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to inspire students and contribute to their understanding of food science, culinary skills, and healthy living.

Salary: £31,350 to £47,839 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons to students of varying abilities, ensuring all students are engaged and motivated.

Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a curriculum that meets national standards and fosters a love for cooking and nutrition.

Assessment and Reporting: Assess students' progress, provide constructive feedback, and prepare reports on their performance.

Classroom Management: Maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and ensure the safety and well-being of all students during practical lessons.

Extracurricular

Activities:

Organize and participate in extracurricular activities related to Food Technology, such as cooking clubs or health and nutrition workshops.

Professional Development: Stay current with the latest educational practices and Food Technology trends, participating in professional development as required.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
Must have QTS and a relevant degree in Food Technology or a related field.
Experience:

Previous experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
Passion for Teaching: A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
Excellent Communication

Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
Organisational

Skills:

Strong organizational skills to plan and manage lessons and resources efficiently.
