Nether Currie Primary School, Edinburgh.
The setting offers early learning and childcare 52 weeks a year, across a variety of models for up to 64 children.
About the RoleNether Currie Primary School has recently expanded into a new era of early learning and child care provision for children aged 2‑5 years. A fabulous new nursery building opened in August 2022, and we have steadily seen our numbers of children rise over this time.
We are looking for a Senior Early Years Officer to join our setting, who can bring knowledge, experience, vitality, flexibility and a passion for helping young children develop and grow through planning and providing high‑quality learning experiences.
Qualifications & ExperienceThe successful candidate will have proven management knowledge and experience of establishing and leading a new team. The person must hold an HNC/SVQ3 in a relevant Childhood Practice award and an advanced early years qualification that accords with the requirements of the Standard for Childhood Practice and meet SSSC registration requirements without conditions. A commitment to undertaking the BA Childhood Practice is essential.
Regulatory& Compliance Requirements
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
