Role Summary

The Head of Professional Learning and Education Programmes is a member of The Data Lab Leadership Team and is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of the Professional Learning and Educational portfolio aligned to the vision, purpose, and strategic direction of The Data Lab.

The Data Lab is Scotland’s Innovation Centre for Data and AI, founded in 2014 as part of Scotland’s Innovation Centres programme. Through hubs across Scotland, we foster innovation through collaboration, build skills and grow talent, and champion Scotland’s data science community. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of professional learning and education programmes.
  • Align programmes with the vision, purpose, and strategic direction of The Data Lab.
  • Manage the portfolio to ensure high quality and impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation and external partners.
  • Oversee resources, budgets, and timelines for programme delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of learning offerings.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant experience in learning and development or education leadership.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Evidence of right to work in the UK.
