Salary: £30,188 - £34,452 (pro-rated for part-time and sessional)

30 per week, 39 weeks sessional

This role is to join our Integrated Pupil Support Team as a kind, caring and passionate Pupil Support Officer. The Integrated Support Team provides a safe and welcoming approach where positive relationships and trauma-informed practices help young people achieve their potential. The focus will be on developing social, emotional and communication skills alongside support to access the academic curriculum.

• Build trusting relationships with children and their families.
• Support learners who face barriers to their learning and/or require support with attendance and wellbeing due to poverty.
• Lead on supporting children with additional support needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to embed social, emotional and communication skills into the curriculum.

• Experienced PSAs from secondary or primary, or with demonstrable experience working with children with additional support needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work with children and families in a supportive and trauma-informed environment.

All successful candidates will receive training and support to help them carry out their role.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required – you will be required to provide this check.
